Exploring the Kpop World!
About this Blog
Hello! My name is Jasmine and I started listening to Kpop in 2010, when I first discovered a Korean variety show called “Let’s Go Dream Team!”
When I first listened to Kpop, everything from the
music and Korean culture were so different. I didn’t know anything
about what Kpop was and I didn’t have any basic information on how these Kpop
bands formed. But as I started to listen to more Kpop groups other than SHINee
and watching Korean variety shows, I started to get more of an immense
knowledge of each member and the overall overview of the Kpop Industry.
In this blog, I will talk about Kpop idols, Kpop groups, and what I have learned about Kpop over the years. As a Kpop
fanatic, I hope that with my insight on Kpop, you will find yourself wanting to
listen to Kpop and learn about the Kpop culture!
About Me
Other than my unhealthy obsession with Kpop, I am currently in my 2nd year of College, where I am studying as a Business major.

One of the things I’ve always wanted to do, at least one
time in my life was audition for a Kpop company. In 2012, I did exactly that,
and auditioned for the SM Entertainment Global Auditions in my city with 2 of
my good friends. I remember the exact emotion I felt when I went into the
audition room. My whole body was shaking to the point where I could barely hear
the others auditioning in the same room as me. When it was finally my turn to
audition, they had me look straight at the camera while I was singing. It is
probably obvious that I didn’t make it into the company but I’m definitely glad
I was able to have the opportunity to be in the same place as my favorite Kpop
idols were in before.
One day, I would love to attend a Kpop concert and
go travel around Asian countries but as of now I’m satisfied with just
listening to Kpop. As much as Kpop is such a big part of my life, I love to
sketch, read and watch Asian dramas.
